Olde Town Engineering Company, PC is a small business specialized in the field of structural engineering.  Our office is located in Fairfax, Virginia near the campus of George Mason University.  We provide our clients with structural consulting and design services for their building construction projects.  Currently we are in search of individuals who are interested in the following employment:

We are seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer and an Intermediate-Level Structural Engineer to design and analyze building structures for code-required loading.  Building structures are primarily constructed of reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry and wood.  Project types range from commercial & government facilities to single & multi-family residential development.   Olde Town Engineering Company’s team approach to problem solving and project review encourages input from each member of our technical staff to ensure broad coverage of design and analysis issues.  Responsibilities include fieldwork, CAD drafting, construction administration, contact with clients, and computations for design and analysis.  Having the abilities to manage multiple projects concurrently and communicate clearly with co-workers and clients through discussion, presentations and concise reports/letters are a must.   Salary is commensurate with experience.  Our typical work week is Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Benefits include two weeks’ vacation, one week of personal/sick leave, and 11 observed holidays.  Group medical insurance and Individual Retirement Account are available.
Entry-Level Candidates must have:
 -    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited College
               or University
 -    0 – 5 years of career experience involving Building Codes 
               with either an engineering firm or a department within
               a manufacturing/construction/design-build company

Preferred Qualities for Entry-Level Candidates:
 -    Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification 
 -    Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction or
               Architectural Engineering
 -    Drafting experience with AutoCAD 2007
Intermediate-Level Candidates must have:
  -      Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited College
                   or University
  -      6 - 10 years of career experience involving structural design
                   and analysis of building structures. 
  -     Working knowledge of current building codes

Preferred Qualities for Intermediate-Level Candidates:
  -      PE license
  -      Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction or
                    Architectural Engineering
  -      Drafting experience with AutoCAD
