Northern Virginia Community College Bookstore Woodbridge, VA
The new, 2400 SF, single-story bookstore was re-designed for the fit-up needed by Barnes & Noble. The structural systems are conventional concrete masonry walls and open-web (bar) joists and metal deck for the roof. The estimated cost of construction: $500,000.

Conducted a survey and designed supports for HVAC modifications to serve multi-purpose room (700# RTUs over main floor classrooms, office & reading room); designed exterior concrete pad and supports for basement wall openings.

The project to replace the existing HVAC equipment, our second for Loudoun County Public Schools, required that the proposed installation of the new RTU incorporate the unique curb installation of the original roof top unit. Structural design and detailing incorporated the specific requirements.

Francis C. Hammond M. S. Gymnasium Repairs
Alexandria, VA
Structural repairs to the existing gymnasium walls were needed in order for Alexandria City Public Schools to obtain their occupancy permit for the auxiliary gym. Working closely with ACPS, the City of Alexandria and Whiting-Turner Construction, innovative structural designs were developed and implemented to repair the walls. Estimated cost of construction: $250,000.

Ressie Jeffries E. S. Kitchen Upgrade & Cafeteria RTU/Electrical Upgrade
Front Royal, VA
The projects that we completed for Warren County Public Schools included renovation of the existing full-service kitchen facility, addition of an HVAC system to the existing cafeteria which required structural modifications to the roof to support the new RTU and associated ductwork, and upgrade to the existing school encompassing the installation of a transformer, a 2500 amp switchboard, and both underground and suspended electrical conduit. Approximate cost of construction: $2.5 million

George Washington M. S. HVAC Replacement
Alexandria, VA
Complete replacement of the HVAC system for the existing 150,000 SF Alexandria City Public Schools' building. Structural services included the design of the supports for the new heat recovery equipment installed on the roof and analysis of the original building which was constructed around 1935. The construction cost for the HVAC replacement project was $4.4 million.
